Housing for People with Disabilities in the Twin Cities

Get information about finding all types of housing for those who are disabled such as independent living centers or supportive housing from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

There is an online search tool to help you find subsidized apartment buildings near you in Minnesota if you are disabled. To get a list of buildings, just choose:

  1. the city, county, or zip code you want to live in,
  2. the apartment type: DISABLED (for people with disabilities), or HEALTHCARE (if you need assisted-living, usually for seniors or people with disabilities)
  3. the number of bedrooms

HousingLink also provides an Online Directory to help you find affordable housing if:

  • You use only a part of your income for your rent
  • You pay a reduced rent rate
  • You have a Section 8 Voucher
  • You need to find supportive housing programs.

How do I apply?
You will need to visit the management office for the apartment building that you are interested in.

Services: PPL owns or manages 770 units of affordable rental housing with optional support services in Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Louis Park and New Hope. A Housing Specialist can work with you one-on-one to determine if you are eligible for PPL rental housing or assist you to locate other affordable housing options. Walk-ins are welcome. Please call for weekly schedule.
